An educational outreach program of the Eileen Boevers Performing Arts Workshop

For almost twenty years, our Theatre for Young Audiences has been committed to producing quality plays and adaptations of literature for middle school-aged children from schools all over the Chicagoland area.

Our Theatre for Young Audiences (TYA) educational outreach program is proof that live theatre awakens the imagination as it challenges students to explore the complexities of literature, history and their world.

The goal of our TYA series is to work, in cooperation with teachers, to bring curriculum to life, to assist in teaching the fine arts as mandated by the State of Illinois, to nurture an appreciation of theatre, and to correlate drama in “cross-curricular” activities.

This year, we invite you to join us as we present exciting plays that will be great supplements to your curriculum. Allow us to support you in your curriculum development. View the current season.

Our productions

All plays are approximately one hour and include a question/answer discussion with the cast.

Tickets for the Saturday public performances at Apple Tree are $11. Details on the current season page.

For school or group performances, tickets are just $9 per student. Performances are offered at 9:30 & 11:30 a.m., Monday thru Friday. (Prices and performance times may vary at Metropolis and The Gorton Center.)

Free study guides are provided for each production.

For a more hands-on experience, ask about our new TYA Workshop Series. Workshops are created specifically for individual class needs and are available in the following areas: Drama, Creative Movement, Character Exploration, Storytelling, Script Analysis, Literature and more.

TYA Summer Series, coming in 2009!
